LUCID Workshops

Design and designers in intervention development

Dr Maria Lonsdale and Stephanie Sciberras

Background, aims and content

This workshop is an introduction to user-centred research-methods that are of great benefit to the design of healthcare outputs. We will illustrate how bringing together stakeholders in the development of healthcare design solutions increases their validity and reliability, as well as their direct and fast applicability to real-contexts.

Participants will gain an understanding of how different user-centred design methods are applied at different stages of the design and research process. Moreover, how to design with the user and for the user. This will be achieved through a mix of short presentations and group work where participants get an opportunity to take part in co-design activities and usability testing.
