Our research at Leeds School of Medicine is internationally renowned and the University attracts researchers from all over the world. As the School of Medicine is within the wider Faculty of Medicine and Health and the University of Leeds, you'll study as part of the Faculty Graduate School.
86% of our Clinical Medicine research is rated world leading or internationally excellent and 94% of research publications related to Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care were rated as either world-leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021) We’re a founding member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities and have twice been awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize, the country’s highest accolade for an academic institution.

Our outstanding laboratories and clinical facilities enable research and skills development, both on campus and at St James’s University Hospital. Our newly redeveloped medical school building is home to the largest teaching centre in the UK, along with dedicated clinical skills training facilities and the latest equipment.
These facilities provide the perfect platform for your research and will enhance your academic experience, whatever your specialism. Some of the UK’s leading medical research centres are based at the University and we’re investing heavily to realise the potential of new technologies.
