What we do

A very warm welcome to Leeds Institute of Medical Education (LIME), where we champion excellence in medical and clinical education and pedagogical research, underpinned by our inclusive and innovative culture. In LIME, we are dedicated to supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate students in shaping a rich and meaningful learning experience within a global community – both here and through our valued clinical partners. Our close collaboration with colleagues in Teaching Hospitals Trusts across Yorkshire and internationally, ensures that our students benefit from world-class healthcare environments, where clinicians work at the forefront of medical technology, education and development.

We are proud to have been awarded six ASPIRE awards, for Excellence in; Student Engagement, Student Assessment, Social Accountability, Curriculum Development and Faculty Development. Through integration of scholarship, research, education and innovation, we aim to be considered one of the world's foremost centres of excellence in medical and clinical education, where our students are supported to thrive. 

We, in the School of Medicine, are honoured to hold the prestigious Athena SWAN gold award, reflecting our deep commitment to gender equality, across all aspects of our work.
