MBChB Medicine and Surgery Student profile Alexander Bald 2018

Alexander Bald

At Leeds you meet your personal tutor every term and you can talk with them about anything at all, whether personal problems or asking for advice regarding the course. Equally, you can always go to the student services at the union who are completely confidential and will look after you. Something else I find incredibly valuable is the MUMS scheme. This is where first year medical students are matched to second year ‘medic parents’ to form ‘medic families’. This gives you the opportunity to build a friendship with someone who has been through the whole process of adjusting to university life and get advice from them. It really smooths out the transition from sixth form to university.
