"Cardiovascular disease and metabolic disorders are challenges we face on a global level. We believe our students and staff are crucial to creating a better future, where we understand how to meet these challenges. Our research focuses on a holistic approach to tackle the issues in innovative ways. By furthering our knowledge of how these diseases function and how they interact with one another we hope to find new solutions which we can translate into real-world application. We work collaboratively with partners such as the NHS Trust, BHF and NIHR and believe these partnerships are crucial to our research. We have a strong focus on patient outcomes and work to improve quality of life for those affected. Training the next generation of researchers, clinicians and health workers is a priority for us. We offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and PGR qualifications. Our students work with educators from clinical, industry and research backgrounds to prepare them for their chosen path."
