LICAMM Our Research Facilities

Our excellent facilities play a critical role in making LICAMM a centre of excellence for clinical, laboratory and population-based research and education in the field of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Supported by a dedicated team of staff and research technicians we are an important member of the N8 Research Partnership (made up from the eight most research-intensive universities in the North of England) and a recent recipient of a prestigious BHF Accelerator award. We are research leaders in thrombosis, metabolomics, reproduction and embryology, CMR imaging, and the interplay between diabetes and heart failure. 

To support multi- and inter-disciplinary research across a range of different research areas in the  LICAMM scientists have access to research technologies including in genomics, proteomics, histology, flow cytometry, microscopy, and electrophysiology.
