Occupational Health requirements for students and applicants to the Faculty of Medicine and Health

Occupational Health (OH) clearance is required by all healthcare students entering programmes across the UK. All applicants once they have selected Leeds as firm choice must engage with our occupational health process before they can register for their clinical programme of choice.   

This webpage will outline the process, what is required and provide recommendations and guidance for keeping both yourself and patients safe whilst you study with us and will be in line with placement providers professional expectations of their own staff involved with patient care as well as the Governments Green Book. 

Any vaccine-preventable disease that is transmissible from person to person poses a risk to both healthcare professionals and their patients.  Healthcare workers have a duty of care towards their patients and a duty of care to fellow staff members under HWSA duties, which includes taking reasonable precautions to protect them from communicable diseases.
