Introduction to VCE

Thank you for your interest in the Virtual Clinical Experience (VCE) research project.

What is VCE?

Learning from watching real-life consultations between doctors and patients has always been an essential part of medical training.  VCE is an online platform that enables medical students to join your consultation remotely. This means they can learn in the same way without having to be physically present in the room with you.  The VCE research study is a collaboration between the University of Leeds and Global Health Education Group.

About the VCE research project

The VCE platform is a new way for medical students to join and learn from clinical consultations.  The University of Leeds are conducting a research project to understand how VCE works in a real-life general practice setting and how students learn with VCE.

VCE – how you can help

In order to evaluate the VCE platform, we need to understand the experiences of those involved.  This includes patients, GPs and medical students.  This is where you can help.

You have been invited to participate in a VCE consultation.  The following video tells you more about your involvement in VCE.
