Working alongside professionals on placement really enhances your people skills and awareness of the different roles in healthcare. Placements are definitely the highlight of the course, as you get to do what you love in a safe space, with the help of likeminded and experienced professionals.
It is hard to specify one particular placement. I think knowing that you've made a difference to someone's day, whether big or small, is rewarding in itself, I have been in rehab and recovery, older adult care, an acute mental health ward and with the liaison psychiatry team at St James.
