Global Creative Competition for Health Care Professions Students

Prize competition terms and conditions

1.         The Promoters

The Promoters are The University of Leeds and Imperial College London.

2.         The Competition

2.1       The title of the competition is Global Creative Competition 2023: Healthy Planet, Healthy People.

    1. Healthcare students around the world are invited to submit creative entries in response to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
    2. Entries will be shortlisted, and winners will be judged by a panel of judges. The panels decision will be final.

3.         How to enter

3.1       The competition will run from 9.00am (BST) on 1 July 2023 (the "Opening Date") to 23.59pm (BST) on 1 September 2023 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.

3.3       All competition entries must be submitted no later than the Closing Date.

3.4       The competition is free to enter.

3.5       The Promoters will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.

3.6       By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

4.         Eligibility

4.1       The competition is only open to healthcare students currently enrolled at an institution of higher education.

4.2       By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoters may require you to provide proof of eligibility.

4.3       The Promoters will not accept competition entries that are: automatically generated by computer; include any third-party copyright; are completed by third parties or in bulk; illegible, have been altered, reconstructed,   forged or tampered with; not submitted via the online portal; or fall outside the minimum requirements for display resolution specified on the submission portal. 

4.4       There is a limit of one entry per person for this competition. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.

4.5       The Promoters reserve all rights to disqualify you if, in the Promoters’ discretion, your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition.
 

5.         The Prizes

5.1       The first prize is £300 GBP; and there are 3 runners’ up prizes of £150 GBP each.

5.2       It is expected (but may be subject to change) that the prizes will be presented at an online ceremony. Prize winners should be willing to participate in the ceremony.

5.3       The Promoters will contact winners with details of how to claim the prize money.


6.    Winners
6.1    The decision of the judging panel is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.2    The Promoters will contact winners personally as soon as practicable after the final decision of the winning entries is made, using the email address provided with the competition entry. 
6.3    The Promoters must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoters will publish the surname and country of prize winners and, if applicable, their winning entries.
6.4    If you object to any or all your surname, country and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoters, details as per section 9.3. In such circumstances, the Promoters must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

7.    Claiming the prize
7.1    The Promoters will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners. If a winner cannot be contacted or has not claimed their prize within 90 days of the final decision of winning entries, the Promoters reserve the right to offer the prize to an alternative entrant.
7.2    The Promoters do not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

8.    Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights
8.1    The Promoters do not claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry.
8.2    By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you hereby 
            (a)You agree that the Promoters may, but are not required to, make your entry available  on the website https://medicinehealth.leeds.ac.uk/faculty-/doc/creative-competition-health-care-professions-students and any other media, whether in connection with any publicity of the competition or for any other purpose: and (b )grant each of the Promoters a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.

8.3     You warrant that your competition entry does not include any third-party copyright and is entirely your work.


9.    Data protection and publicity
9.1    The Promoters will:
(a)       only process your personal data as set out in in these terms and conditions;
(b)    not share your personal data with any other party nor use for any purpose other than in relation to the competition and as described herein; and 
(c)    retain personal data for applicants for a period of 3 months only following the Closing Date.

10.    General
10.1    If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoters may, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

10.2    The Promoters reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
10.3    These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
