Funding for the Germ-bugs
Will innovative art-based resources for medical students help their learning?
Dr Andrew Kirby, Dr Jane Freeman and Dr Alison Ledger have been awarded Student Education Catalyst funding from LITE (Leeds Institute of Teaching Excellence) to develop art-based resources for enhancing microbiology teaching and learning.
Illustrated stories about bacterial pathogens will be co-produced with medical students and created by a graduate from Leeds Arts University, Imogen Fancourt.
The stories will then be implemented in the MBChB curriculum and the educational impact will be evaluated by an intercalating medical education student.
