Inspiring future health and social care researchers - School of Healthcare Research Internships

We are committed to developing pathways into research for health and social care professionals, and growing the next generation of researchers.

We launched the School of Healthcare research internship scheme in 2024, supported by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR)

Three School of Healthcare undergraduate nursing students undertook a funded five-week research internship with three mentors — Dr Gemma Louch, Dr Kirsty Haunch and Dr Reena Devi. The internships were hosted within two research programmes (The Response Study and NICHE-Leeds) across the School of Healthcare research themes ‘Ageing Well’ and ‘Quality and Safety’.
