The National Institute for Health Research has launched a new scheme to assist nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals develop a clinical academic research career within the NHS
The scheme provides:
- Half-time salary release for two years to develop a PhD fellowship application
- Funding to support training to help your personal development, including Masters Level Modules
- Academic supervision to support the development of a PhD proposal
- Funding for travel and networking
The School of Healthcare is a centre of research excellence, with a vibrant and innovative research culture which influences national and international healthcare. As a pre-doctoral fellow at Leeds, you will be welcomed into one of our multidisciplinary research groups. You will receive training, support and experience from a team of expert researchers that will significantly strengthen your application for a PhD. You will be supervised and mentored by an experienced researcher to help you fulfil your potential and develop yourself and your career.
As one of our pre-doctoral fellows, you will be:
• signposted to the resources and people needed for a high quality NIHR doctoral fellowship application
• part of the Leeds Integrated Clinical Academic Pathway community, and mentored by others who have successfully won awards
• supported to prepare journal articles for publication
• given opportunities to participate in NIHR research projects
