World Cafe Equality and Inclusivity Event
The School held its first 'World Cafe' event on Equality and Inclusivity on Monday 12th December.
This informal, interactive, consultative event provided an opportunity for staff to give feedback on our action plan for Equality and Inclusivity and to help shape the School's forthcoming submission for an Athena Swan Silver Award.
The aim of the event was to bring everyone together around tables to explore in depth the working culture of the School, including concepts which we had identified through focus groups as being issues which really mattered to staff; for example, flexible working, SRDS, promotions, timing of staff events, career opportunities and communications, amongst other things.
Co-ordinated by the School's Athena Swan Self Assessment Team, over 30 members of staff representing academic/non-academic and clinical/non-clinical disciplines came along to share their thoughts and experiences and we are grateful for their valuable contribution to the event.
