Former student Amit Patel wins two awards at The Dental Awards 2017
One of our alumni, Amit Patel has won Young Dentist of the Year Southern Region and also National Young Dentist of the Year making him one of the best young dentists in the country.
The Dental Awards are the original and most respected awards programme in UK dentistry. For more than 18 years The Dental Awards have recognised the outstanding individuals and teams whose commitment and drive continues to raise standards throughout UK dentistry.
The ceremony took place on Friday 12th May 2017 at The Hilton Metropole in Birmingham.
The Dental Awards are judged by a panel of leading dental experts and key opinion leaders, representing a broad range of disciplines and dental associations. All entries are assessed and a shortlist of finalists is drawn up with the winners being announced at the presentation ceremony and gala dinner.
Amit has always strived to provide the best care possible for his patients and carries out general, cosmetic dentistry and implant dentistry at a Dental Practice in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex which was started by his father in 1986.
After graduating from Leeds in 2013, Amit has shown commitment to further learning and progressing his career, as he is currently studying for a master’s degree at Kings College London in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and another at the Royal College of Surgeons London in Implant Dentistry.
Amit said: “I am grateful and humbled to receive these two awards. I never expected to win at such an early stage in my career as some of the shortlisted have much more experience than I do. I am thankful to the judges for acknowledging my talent as a lot of studying and sleepless nights goes into to being a dentist. I would also like to thank my patients for the continued support.
The practice where I work has a great team and is the back bone to our successful practice. We are also lucky to have some of the finest equipment including a Cone Beam CT Scan machine which are rare in the region, so we can digitally plan safe and predictable dental implant treatment”.
