Research interests
I am a mixed methods researcher and lead of the Assessment Research Group in LIME. My research focuses primarily on measures of quality in assessment and the design and evaluation of behavioural interventions and assessments to support student education. I have a special interest in performance assessments (OSCE and workplace-based assessments) and how engagement, personality and assessment design can affect the success of students in medical assessments. Additionally, how the use of digital technologies can advance education, particularly the use of artificial intelligence (AI). I have secured over £6.2 million in grant funding to advance health professions education and enhance student experience. I supervise BSc, MSc and PhD students and would welcome proposals for research in these areas.
