Dr Julia Csikar

Profile

I am an Associate Professor in Dental Public Health at the Leeds School of Dentistry, Honorary Academic for the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

My research focuses on oral health improvement, behaviour change and reducing health inequalities, particularly for vulnerable populations including older adults in care homes and people experiencing homelessness.

I teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. I am Programme Lead for the MSc in Dental Public Health. I supervise undergraduate, master's and doctoral research students, I am committed to developing the next generation of dental public health researchers.

I hold leadership roles within the University of Leeds, including Co-Associate Lead for UOA3 REF2029 and Co-Lead for Student Experience and Education for Athena Swan.
