A simple fingertip test could reveal if you are living with a little known condition

This week (week beginning 26 June) clinicians from the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine (LIRMM) will be staffing a mobile clinic in the city centre, testing people for Raynaud’s.
No appointment is necessary and the test is free. It takes 5 minutes and involves putting a finger under a special microscope to reveal the shape and size of the capillaries (blood vessels) under the skin.
The test will reveal if you have Raynaud's and if you do you will receive a referral to a specialist clinic for further tests.
The mobile clinic is being run in partnership with Scleroderma and Raynaud’s UK (SRUK), a charity which promotes greater awareness of the conditions. SRUK estimates one in ten people in Leeds are affected by Raynaud’s.
