Leeds alumni impact global health
Last April, the World Health Organization celebrated 75 years of improving public health. We look back on the global impact Leeds alumni have made at the organisation to date.
On 7 April 2023 – World Health Day – the World Health Organization (WHO) observed its 75th anniversary. Rewind to 1948 when countries around the world united and founded the WHO to promote health, protect the world and serve the vulnerable – prioritising the highest level of health and wellbeing for all.
As the WHO reflected on their public health successes spanning 75 years, we also celebrated our graduates who play an instrumental role in the organisation. From leaders of the WHO’s 195 member states to community health practitioners around the world, we are so proud of the impact Leeds alumni continue to have on global health.
Let’s look back on some our WHO alumni who have applied their Leeds education to address some of the world’s most pressing health issues.
