Profile

I joined the University of Leeds in 2020 as a research assistant and am currently based at the School of Healthcare. I have an academic background in applied healthcare research, with particular interests in patient safety and healthy ageing and care.

I graduated from the University of Salford in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Counselling Studies and went on to complete an MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Central Lancashire in 2014.

I started my research career in 2014 when I worked as a research assistant at the University of Central Lancashire, within the School of Developmental Psychology. I went on to work at the University of Manchester where I provided research support for the ‘Neighbourhoods and Dementia’ study, developing the evidence base, methods and measures for understanding the significance of neighbourhoods for people living with dementia and their care partners. During my time as a research assistant at the University of Leeds, I have supported the TASO Summer Schools Evaluation, the FORVAD Trial (Leeds Institute of Clinical Trials Research), and the REBOOT Study.

My current role is as a research assistant with the Response Study. This 39-month project is funded by NIHR to evaluate the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) across the NHS in England. Within this programme I am providing research support to five work packages, as well as leading on a documentary analysis of patient safety incident response policy documents for NHS Trusts in England. I am also a research ethics committee member within the School of Healthcare (SHREC).
