Profile

I am a PhD student in the school of Healthcare studies at the University of Leeds. Prior to this, I worked in the same school on a study that looked at how sexual assualt referral centres (SARCs) in the UK identify mental health and substance use problems.

I have a Social Science background with over 15 years expereince in sexual and reproductive health programmes and research including clinical trials in Zimbabwe. I have worked and led the implementation of a National HIV Prevention Programme for sex workers in Zimbabwe namely The Sisters with a voice under the Centre for Sexual Health HIV/AIDS Research, part of which included addressing abuse experienced by women in sex work and advocating for their rights to health and treatment.

Research interests

My research interests are on mental health, sexual and reproductive health among key vulnerable populations.
