Profile
I am currently completing my PhD studies as an NIHR funded Doctoral Fellow at the University of Leeds. I am also a part-time clinical pharmacist at Leeds Children’s Hospital. My main goal is to improve the experiences of families who use medicines, in order to improve their health outcomes and minimise any harm from medicines use. The main acheivements in my academic journey so far have been:
- In 2018, I was awarded a NIHR pre-doctoral fellowship which I used to complete a PG Cert in Applied Health Research and to conduct patient/public engagement work about medication safety.
- In 2019, I successfully gained funding from Leeds Cares and the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber Research Design Service to conduct focus groups on the experiences of families who use prescribed medicines at home.
- In 2023, I successfully gained funding from the NIHR Doctoral Fellowship Round 9 to fund my research project MINIMEDs.
- In 2024, I succesfully published a case report with a family as co-authors about harm to their child caused by the healthcare system. I also successfully applied for funding for Leeds Hospitals Charity to cover the open access publication fees.
I am supported by the Child Health Outcomes Research At Leeds (CHORAL) group and the NIHR Yorkshire & Humber Patient Safety Collabaration, both joint hosted by the University of Leeds.
