Profile

Jan is Joint Programme Director, visiting Associate Professor and Clinical Director. She is responsible for all clinical practice elements of the Doctor of Clinical Psychology programme and is also the NHS manager of the trainees. Jan also works as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. She is responsible for the professional and personal development of trainees and staff, including implementing national directives, development of programmes, evaluation procedures, appraisal systems and direct teaching and training, including supervision. Previous roles include 2008–2015: Programme Director for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Supervisor Training, responsible for managing and delivering multi-disciplinary supervisor training across the Yorkshire and the Humber Strategic Health Authority. 2006–2011: Director of Clinical Practice, University of Sheffield, Doctor in Clinical Psychology Course. Current research interests: include personal and professional development of trainees and clinical psychologists; leadership; supervision. Teaching responsibilities: Doctor of Clinical Psychology. Professional activities: Previous co-Chair of the national Group of Trainers in Clinical Psychology and Member of the national Division of Clinical Psychology Executive Committee (2015 - 2018), current member of the Division of Clinical Psychology Workforce and Training Sub-Committee. External examiner, University of Canterbury
