Mr Henry Davies

Profile

My first degree was in Aerospace Engineering (BEng) at the University of Manchester.

After a wide range of jobs in London, Madrid, Barcelona and Taipei, I moved to Hangzhou (China) to study Medicine (MBBS) in Chinese - where I was part of a molecular science research group working on molecular mechanisms in spinal cord and brain injury.

I then completed an MD in Cardiac Surgery before moving back to UK to undertake an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in Vascular Surgery in the Yorkshire & Humber School of Surgery and begin vascular surgery training. I am now reading a PhD in Maastricht University in End of Life Care in Vascular Surgery and have recently taken up an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Leeds University.

Research interests

My current primary area of research is end of life and palliative care in people living with aortic aneurysms and chronic limb threatening ischaemia. I am also interested in the management of peripheral artery disease, instrumental variables, difference-in-differences; aneurysm growth rate and molecular mechanisms in trauma.
