Chris Walker

Profile

I manage the day-to-day running of several melanoma research projects.I qualified as a staff nurse at Leeds in 2000 and spent almost six years working in Urology, including three years as a research nurse working on the ProtecT prostate cancer trial. In 2006 I joined the Section of Epidemiology and Biostatistics to work within the Melanoma Research Group for Professor Julia Newton-Bishop. I manage several melanoma studies and I am the first point of contact for many study participants. For example, I am coordinating a study that is developing a blood test of immunity in illness.  In addition to my research nurse role, I am a dermatology nurse practitioner working within the skin cancer 2-week-wait clinics and skin surgery unit at Chapel Allerton Hospital and the pigmented lesion clinic at St James's.
