Profile
After graduating in Animal Science (University of Reading), I pursued my combined interests in biochemistry and reproduction at the University of York under Professor Leese where my PhD focussed on the cellular stresses affecting mammalian oocytes and embryos during assisted reproduction. I subsequently moved to the University of Leeds, where I worked on the role played by cytokines in various reproductive disorders and gynaecological malignancies as a Junior, and then Senior, Research Fellow. During my time at Leeds, I undertook my MBChB (Medicine) which, after a spell working as an academic foundation doctor at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, led to my current role as an academic histopathologist at the University. My current research interests focus on computer-aided diagnostics in digital pathology, mathematical modelling of growth factor and inflammatory mediator networks in gynaecological malignancies and understanding the mechanisms responsible for endometrial receptivity post conception. I have been and am involved with multiple SMEs in the commercial development of academic research.
