Profile
I am delighted to be Director of Leeds Institute Medical Education, where our culture is built on values of integrity, inclusivity, compassion and collaboration. Our vision is to deliver high quality intergrated healthcare professions education and research through an inclusive, innovative culture for the benefit of students, staff and the health of the public.
I have a passion for promoting equality, my commitment to creating an inclusive envrionment for All is demonstated in my leadership as School of Medicine Athena SWAN lead. Here, I lead a team in embedding new and improved systemic, cultural and behavioural changes to create an improved and fairer environment for staff and students of all gender identities and intersectionalities. I am proud that the School hold the AS Gold award for its gender equality work.
My research interests are in PedR, specifically menopause and pedagogy of menopause. I am curently supervising two DClinEd students.
I have 35 years’ experience across the NHS and Higher Education interface, across the Faculty, within both under and postgraduate education and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
