Dr Olivia Robinson

Profile

I work as a research fellow and Trial Manager for the CAPTURE study: improving pain control for people living with cancer. I oversee a multi-clustered randomised pilot trial, across 2-NHS oncology tertiary referral centres.

My PhD was an ethnographic study that explored the care and support needs of nursing home residents living with dementia and comorbid cancer. This involved observing residents with moderate to severe dementia and conducting interviews with families, healthcare professionals and nursing home staff to understand the barriers and facilitators to delivering holistic person-centred care for residents with both conditions.

Prior to this, I worked as a research assistant for the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University on the NIHR-funded EPIC trial, evaluating the clinical and cost-effectiveness of Dementia Care Mapping™ for people with dementia living in care homes.
