Duncan Ewin

Profile

I obtained my BSc in Microbiology from the University of Leeds, after which I joined the Healthcare Associated Infection (HCAI) Research Group as a Research Technician, gaining practical experience in microbiology and working with in-vitro models. I subsequently undertook a PhD with the group, titled "Identifying Bacterial Markers of Antimicrobial-Mediated Intestinal Dysbiosis," under the supervision of Dr Jane Freeman, Dr Antony Buckley, and Professor Mark Wilcox. This research combined in-vitro gut models with metagenomic and metabolomic approaches to characterise compositional and functional shifts within the microbiome associated with antibiotic exposure.
