Mrs Sarah Sayer

Profile

I am a radiographer and maintain my HCPC registration. I qualified as a radiographer in 1997 then worked as a Senior Radiographer working in vascular radiography.

I started work as a Lecturer Practitioner for the University of Leeds in 2002 and in 2006 I made the transition to Clinical Tutor and undertook a diploma in clinical education.

I am the Action Group Lead for Health, Safety & Wellbeing for  our staff; I ensure our staff have access to mindful activities to stay mentally and physically resilient. This also spills over into my support for students and I incorporate this into my role as a personal tutor too. We all like to ensure our students feel supported and can come to us for advice and guidance to the right support network during their time at the University of Leeds.

I am Module Leader for Professional Practice II (this is the clinical module that incorporates your assessments) and Diagnostic Imaging Technique II. I teach on the Diagnostic Imaging Technique modules in years 1 & 3 too.

I am the Clinical Coordinator for our course, so I have lots of contact with students and staff in clinical placements. I ensure that liaison between these areas means that clinical practice runs smoothly and will always listen to our students thoughts about placements.

I run the peer mentoring scheme so do not be surprised to hear from me before you join our course as we believe that peer mentoring is a big part of ensuring that you feel like you part of our programme and that support is available to you from all avenues.
