Profile
I am an experienced registered nurse with a wealth of clinical practice spanning over 20 years. Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in surgical high dependency, and served as a Minor Injuries Nurse Practitioner. In my most recent clinical role, I worked as an Accident and Emergency Sister at a regional trauma center, where I gained valuable experience.
I am proud to be registered with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council), which ensures that I adhere to professional standards and maintaining my competence in nursing. In 2016, I made the transition from clinical practice to Medical Education, driven by a passion for training and educating future healthcare professionals and have recently completed my PGCE in Clinical Education.
Currently, I hold multiple roles within the University. I am a Clinical Educator and module lead for Preparation for Professional practice on the Gateway program. In this capacity, I work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, sharing my expertise and contributing to the education and development of aspiring healthcare professionals. Additionally, I have the privilege of being the University academic lead for the Restart a Heart (RSAH) initiative, where I support students in deliver this invaluable community project. Furthermore, as the sustainability lead for clinical skills, I actively advocate for environmentally conscious practices within medical education and healthcare settings.
