Mrs Helen Harcus

Profile

I trained here at Leeds University in Diagnostic Radiography between 1998 and 2002, achieveing my BHSc HONS. I then went onto to work in Diagnostic Imaging across the Leeds Teachning Hopsitals Trust, with a particular focus upon Elderly Imaging. My enjoyment of working alongside and supporting stduents grew and led me to become interested in joining the educational side of the Diagnostic Imaging programme.

I joined the University in 2004 as a part time seconded lecturer practitioner, in order to support Diagnostic Radiography students on practice. In 2006, I became a full time Clinical Tutor for the porgramme.

During my time here at the University I have maintained a strong coneection to the clinical aspect of the ocurse. With the course being a vacational training course, 40% of stduents time is spent out in clinical practice, and for many years I was the Clinical Coordinator, and liaised with regional hospital trusts
