Dr Adam Grice

Profile

I joined the University as a Visiting Clinical Research Fellow in the Academic Unit of Primary Care, Leeds Institute of Health Sciences in 2017. I am also a General Practitioner working at a practice in Leeds.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Medicine at the University of Leeds in 2012, having also undertaken an intercalated BSc in Sports Science in Relation to Medicine. Following my undergraduate training I completed two years of the Academic Foundation Training Programme at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and City Hospital Birmingham and then the General Practice Vocational Training Scheme in Leeds, completing training in 2017.

Research interests

I am an early career researcher and I am currently developing my main area of research interest which will focus on the promotion and uptake of physical activity from the primary care setting. I am also completing work on a systematic literature review looking at the attributes of clinical guidelines and their uptake in clinical practice.

I have been involved in several projects of interest during my undergraduate and postgraduate training. These have included stress and coping in elite athletes, perceptions of sports injuries and their long term consequences and a systematic literature review and meta-analysis on sports participation (including level of performance and previous injury) and whether there is an increased risk of osteoarthritis.
