Profile

I provide operational support and research programme management for the HCAI (Healthcare Associated Infections) and NIHR Leeds BRC AMRI (Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection) theme, ensuring the successful delivery of the groups research portfolio and development of future funding submissions/research proposals.

Research interests

The Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) Research Group is a multi-organisation entity (University of Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals and UKHSA) with a wide research portfolio with £10 million funding over the last 5 years, from industry and research councils. It also leads the Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Theme of the NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre across both the Faculty of Medicine and Health and the Faculty of Biological Sciences. The NIHR Leeds BRC is an infrastructure grant of £20M from the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) to drive excellence in translational research across the University of Leeds and the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT). The Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection (AMRI) Theme has a £1.1m share of this investment. HCAI RG portfolio also extends across the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre on Accelerated Surgical Care, NIHR Translational Research Centre (TRC) in Infection and AMR and the NIHR Oxford Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in HCAI and AMR, with which UoL is a collaborating partner.
