Dr Erica Dall'Armellina

Dr Erica Dall'Armellina

Profile

After specialising as a consultant cardiologist at the University of Triest in Italy, Dr Erica Dall'Armellina was awarded a 2 years fellowship in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Wake Forest University in North Carolina, USA. She subsequently joined the Oxford Centre for Magnetic Resonance (OCMR), where she obtained a doctorate/DPhil in 2012 in “Application of CMR in acute myocardial infarction”. After completion of her DPhil, Dr Dall'Armellina took on the role of CMR clinical lead in the newly established Acute Vascular Imaging Unit (AVIC) at the Heart Centre at the Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. In 2013, she was successfully awarded a British Heart Foundation Intermediate Clinical Research Fellowship which was extended in 2018. Following her relocation to Leeds University, Dr Dall'Armellina has established her research focusing on quantitative CMR imaging in ischemic heart disease and specifically on novel diffusion Tensor Imaging.

Dr Dall'Armellina has an international reputation in CMR with a strong and increasing track record in delivering high-quality research, attested by peer publications, external recognition, and awards. Over the years she has trained registrars, research fellows both from UK and internationally, and has been invited to teach at various CMR courses internationally. She holds the position of Vice-Chair of the SCMR scientific committee, she is a member of the EACVI CMR exam board, she is part of the Editorial Board of the European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging.
