Dr Asra Aslam

Profile

I am a Research Fellow at University of Leeds (UoL). Before joining UoL, I worked in industry for 2 years at Manchester, UK. My research interests are Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Health Sciences. I completed her Ph.D. in 2021 from the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, University of Galway, Ireland. Before joining Ph.D. I worked as a Lecturer in the Dept. of Computer Engineering, AMU, India where I also completed her Masters and Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering. During eight years of research career, I published papers in multiple conferences (CVPR, ICMR, IVCNZ, DEBS) and journals (IEEE Access, IMAVIS Elsevier, LNCS, MTAP Springer, Procedia Computer Science). Till now, I  also act as a reviewer for conferences/journals such as ICML, AISTATS, Imaging Science, NeurIPS, IEEE Access etc. I’m is also actively engaged in helping early career researchers, and am  currently the General Chair for the Women in Computer Vision (WiCV) community (cover different countries across Europe, US, Asia etc), and on the Steering Committee of Leeds Female Leaders Network (LFLN). I’m is also finalist of “Women of the Future Awards” in Science domain, UK 2023.
