Profile
After completing my medical degree and MD in Germany I started my clinical academic career in the UK. My DPhil in Cardiovascular Medicine at Oxford University focussed on 4D flow MRI in bicuspid aortic valve disease. I joined Leeds University in 2018 as a clinical lecturer in Paediatric Cardiology.
Research interests
My main area of interest is cardiac MRI in congenital heart disease. This especially includes neonatal and fetal cardiac MRI with an empahsis on 4D flow MRI. Our state of the art neonatal incubator with specialist neonatal coils allows seamless transfer of the sleeping baby into the MRI scanner allowing extensive vascular and cardiac phenotyping. Our latest smart sync ultrasound gating device now allows cardiac triggering of fetal cardiac MRI.
