Profile

I am the lead for supporting our researchers in delivering inclusive research at the Leeds Institute for Clinical Trials Research (LICTR), so that it is inclusive for diverse populations. I work with trials and research at grant application stage through to recruitment and dissemination.

I started working at LICTR in 2015. Before becoming Diversity and Inclusion Officer, I worked in a variety of trial management roles. I have also supported participant and public engagement projects through my membership of the patient and public involvement working group.

I currently lead the Diversity and Inclusion in Trials Working Group, and I am a member of LICTR’s Engagement Team, focusing on equity, diversity and inclusion.

I am also an NIHR RSS Advisor for EDI.

Projects

  • I was a recipient of the University of Leeds’ Excellence Engagement Scheme where I focused on ethnic diversity in patient and public involvement and engagement in 2021.
  • I’m project lead on the Developing Methods We Trust project. Through funding received through the Enhancing Research Culture Fund, this project is a partnership with the Leeds Culturally Diverse Hub to develop trust with the communities they serve. As part of the project, we developed video communications through a number of workshops, so that we could use the videos as outreach and engagement tools.
