Profile

I joined the University of Leeds as a Visiting Research Fellow in 2015.

 

I completed my BSc in Medical Genetics at the University of Leicester in 2005 prior to underaking my Clinical Scientist training in Molecular Genetics at the Leeds Genetics Laboratory St James’s University Hospital. I became a state registered Clinical Scientist in 2010, shortly after moving to the Healthcare Associated Infection Research Group. Whilst working within this group I attained my MSc in Health Research in 2015 at the University of Leeds.

Research interests

I am a Clinical Scientist within the Healthcare Associated Infections Research group. A multi-organisational group consisting of members of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, the University of Leeds and Public Health England.

 

Principal research studies

Evaluation of new diagnostics in the detection of bloodstream infections.

Commerical development of new diagnostic assays and adapting protocols to ensure successful delivery of the project

 

Observational study of Risk Factors for Clostidium difficile infection in Hospitalised patients with Infection Diarrhoea (ORCHID)

Lead data analyst using retrospective data from 60 sites across Europe.

 

Phase II trials

Site study co-ordinator for phase II clinical trials
