Dr Faye Bennett

Profile

In 2011 I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BSc in Animal Sciences. Following this, I studied for an MSc in Human Anatomy at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in late 2014. Since October 2015 I have been studying for a PhD in Medical Education at the University of Leeds. As well as studying for my PhD,  I was also successful in obtaining an Anatomy Demonstrator Studentship.

This has allowed me to build on my teaching experience and develop my skill set as an educator. In May 2018, I was successful in an application to become a permanent member of the academic staff at the University, when I was awarded the position of Teaching Fellow in Anatomy. I completed my PhD in 2022.

Research interests

My research interests are strongly rooted in the ethics surrounding body donation, as well as medical student behaviours and attitudes towards cadaveric specimens. My PhD focuses on medical student attitudes towards receiving more detailed body donor information than is typically provided, as well as investigating medical student reactions after being provided with such information. I use mainly qualitative methods in my research.
