Dr Sarah Johnson

Profile

I am the Communication Skills Lead for the School of Medicine and a clinical skills educator. My clinical background is in general practice. I have over 10 years of experience working as a salaried and sessional GP in the Leeds and Bradford Area alongside educating undergraduate and postgraduate doctors. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Primary care and have worked as an educator in the primary care, IDEALS and clinical skills strands of the MBChB at University of Leeds. I have also previously been a GP trainer and taught medical students on primary care clinical placements. As well as medical education, I have an interest in health coaching to support patients in making lifestyle changes to improve their health and wellbeing, completing an EMCC and Personalised Care Institute Accredited Skills in Health Coaching Programme in 2021. I also believe it is important that medical staff are supported in their wellbeing and have developed and facilitate a wellbeing course for an LMC organisation called GPM Plus that delivers wellbeing education and mentoring support to primary care staff in Yorkshire.
