Profile

Angela Teece qualified as a nurse in 2008 and has a background in spinal injuries and adult critical care nursing. She has a special interest in the psychological impact of critical illness and was involved in the introduction of patient diaries and a follow-up group to support discharged patients in her previous clinical role.  Angela joined the University of Leeds in 2016 as a lecturer and PhD student. Her PhD was completed in 2022 and used creative qualitative methods to explore how critical care nurses made the decision to inititiate restraint when managing a delirious patient. Since this study and its associated publications, Angela has begun to explore how critical care nurses perceive patients with co-morbid mental health disorders and how this impacts on the care that they receive.

Alongside these research interests, Angela teaches on a number of pre- and post-registration modules at the University.
