Research interests

Education offers a gateway for societal participation and wider representation of marginalised people. However, when education in inself isinaccessible these opportunities cannot be realised. Barriers to accessing education comes in many forms. The hurdles only get larger when you are multiply marginalised. Providing inclusive education is a path to directly confront systemic discrimination which affects communities on the edge of society. As a blind person I have been able to reap the rewards education has been able to provide but I am not ignorant to the unearned privilege my race, gender and sexual identity has afforded me. I want to better understand the systemic challenges disabled people encounter accessing higher education through an intersectional lens.
