Dr Hanin El Shuwihdi

Profile

I gained a BDS in Dentistry from Benghazi University in 2006 before moving to the UK, where I completed a Master’s in Dental Public Health at the University of Sheffield in 2014. In 2021, I earned a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) from the University of Leeds.

I have held a variety of roles across clinical practice, academic teaching, and research. At the University of Leeds, I worked as a Project Manager at PICANet, contributing to national audit activities, and supported the BRUSH project, which aimed to reduce dental caries and improve children’s oral health.

I am currently a Dental Public Health Academic Tutor at the University of Leeds School of Dentistry, where I contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, student supervision, and curriculum development. My work is driven by a commitment to evidence-based practice, improving oral health outcomes, and advancing dental education through collaborative research.
