Profile
I am a dedicated academic with a proven track record of impactful contributions to medical education, online learning, and student support. I currently serve as a Healthcare Professions Lecturer at the University of Leeds, a position I have held since July 2023. In this role, I am an academic team member for the PGCert in Clinical Education, the School of Medicine Digital Education Academic Lead, and a module lead for the PGCert in Clinical Education and for the iBSc Applied Health (Medical Education). I also contribute to teaching and assessment for the Gateway to Medicine, year 0 of MBChB and as a dissertation supervisor for the MSc Physician Associate programme.
Prior to my current role, I was a Tutor in Adult Nursing at the University of Leeds from September 2022 to July 2023. During this time, I was the subject lead for Diabetes across all undergraduate nursing programmes and an active member of the admissions team, facilitating recruitment events and education outreach events for local communities. I also served as an Access to Leeds Admissions tutor, supporting potential students with their academic skills and applications for Leeds University.
I possess core skills in digital pedagogy, enabling me to design and deliver engaging and effective online and blended learning experiences. My expertise in student support ensures students receive the guidance and resources they need to succeed in digital learning environments and feel they belong. Furthermore, I am adept at providing colleague support, empowering faculty to effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices through training, mentoring, and collaborative problem-solving, and to provide effective feedback. I am passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment and actively champion initiatives promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Faculty of Medicine & Health.
