Profile
Following graduation in 1998, I worked for a year in an university hospital and then completed my specialist training in Periodontics in 2001 from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, India. I worked as Senior Lecturer in Department of Periodontics at an university hospital in Chennai, simultaneously pursued MFDS training and examination and was awarded MFDSRCPS by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow, UK in 2007.
I took up post of a Reader in 2004 and subsequently was promoted as Professor in Periodontology in 2009 at SRM Dental College, Ramapuram campus Chennai, where I am continuing as a Visiting Professor. I have been a winner of Essay writing at national level competitions held by Indian Society of Periodontology and I was recipient of T.C.White Visiting Scholarship Award by RCPS Glasgow, UK in 2008. I passes Overseas Registration examination in 2014 and obtained full registration with GDC as a dentist in 2015. I completed my Vocational Training equivalence in 2017 while maintaining part-time teaching session at Birmingham dental Hospital. I joined at School of Dentistry, University of Leeds in September 2017. I currently look after Periodontics teaching at Department of Restorative Dentistry. I have supervised over 10 original research work and have conducted over 15 short term original clinical studies. I have about 10 papers published in peer-reviewed journals, few abstracts published in Journals as conference proceedings, and has contributed chapters in a textbook on Oral Histology and Embroyology. I have delivered guest lectures in India and have presented posters and papers at national and international conferences.
