Profile

I completed my undergraduate dental surgery degree at the University of Newcastle and an MSc in Clinical Dentistry (Restorative) at the University of Leeds. After vocational training, I gained experience in hospital roles as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Restorative, Oral Medicine and Sedation. I have since worked in a range of private and NHS general dental practices both in the UK and Australia.

I started working at the School of Dentistry in Leeds in 2010 as a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Restorative Dentistry and was appointed as a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow in 2016.

 

Research interests

I am currently studying for a Doctorate in Education with a focus on the use of digital technologies in dental clinical skills teaching.

Student education

I teach across all restorative disciplines both in the clinical skills facility and on the restorative clinics. I am the academic lead for clinical skills in the Restorative Department and have an interest in further developing clinical skills teaching and utilising digital technologies in the delivery of this teaching.
