Dr Roberta Longo

Profile

I hold an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York in 2007 and a PhD in Economics from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Italy) in 2008. I joined the Academic Unit of Health Economics at the University of Leeds as a Research Fellow in 2008 before being promoted to Lecturer in June 2014. My responsibilities include teaching health economics to undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting economic evaluations of health care interventions and providing advice on health economics aspects of research within the NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) for Yorkshire and Humber. I am also one of the LIHS representatives on the Faculty Equality and Inclusion Committee.

Research interests

My research interests include evaluation of new diagnostic technologies and evaluation of interventions for improving patient safety. I am conducting cost-effectiveness analyses on landmark trials in heart failure, osteoarthritis, diabetic foot ulcers and IBS.
