Dr Luísa Superbia Guimarães

Profile

I joined the School of Psychology as a lecturer in March 2024. Prior to that, I held a postdoctoral position (2022-2023) in the United States at the University of Missouri (Department of Psychological Sciences) and received training in various labs across different countries. Additionally, I held temporary teaching positions alongside my primary research activities during my education years.

Research interests

I investigate the functioning of working memory in children and adults, with a focus on attentional processes across development. I am particularly interested in how attention supports the short-term maintenance of information in working memory and how maintenance strategies develop with age from mid-childhood to adulthood.
