Profile

After graduating York St. John University with a BSc (hons) in Psychology, I went on to gain a PGCE with QTS at Leeds Trinity University. My experience has centred around working with children; in roles such as teaching and academic mentoring. I began my role as Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Leeds in September 2023.  I facilitate workshops, lead seminars, grade work, and help support students.

Research interests

As a PhD researcher, my research focus is in Developmental Psychology.

My PhD project aims to support children learning English as an additional language (EAL) in UK primary schools, in developing their vocabulary and accessing the full curriculum when they have limited English language. I will be evaluating and developing strategies to improve vocabulary learning within education for children with EAL.
